Infant’s Death Investigated as Homicide
The Roosevelt County, NM Sheriff’s Department is conducting a homicide investigation in the death of a nine-month-old girl. Sheriff Darren Hooker says a preliminary report from the state Office of the Medical Investigator indicates Kyler Willis died of blows to the head. Hooker said Thursday that no arrests have been made. Authorities say the infant was found unresponsive at a babysitter’s home in Portales on September 5th. Hooker says the child was taken to a Lubbock, Texas, hospital, where she died last Thursday.
