7 year-old boy kept chained by Parents for 5 months (Bulgaria)
A seven-year-old child was kept chained by his parents in their home in an alleged bid to keep him away from “bad company.” Other Reports say it was because they couldn't afford a Nanny.

Former Nanny Kidnapped, Suspect claims she stole Safe (Worcester)
Mr. Eisenhauer apparently came to Worcester Thursday afternoon on the hunt for a small safe containing cash, jewelry and two handguns that someone had stolen from his home in Connecticut, police said. He immediately suspected his former nanny, a 17-year-old city girl, and her boyfriend, a 19-year-old city man, police said.

Update from Sat. Aug. 9, 2008: Toddler's drowning ruled accidental (N. Kingstown, R.I.)
Police released the name Tuesday of the 18-month-old who drowned in a fish pond last Friday while at his babysitter’s North Kingstown home.
The child was identified as Luke Metro, son of Paul and Pamela Metro, of 19 Sodom Trail, Exeter.The State Medical Examiner’s office performed an autopsy and ruled the boy’s death an “accidental drowning.”

Suspect held in slashing of 1 year-old's neck (North Philadelphia)
With a horrified look on her face, a mother raced to her North Philadelphia home from work yesterday after receiving word that her 1-year-old had been slashed in the neck. Only minutes earlier, terrifying screams were heard coming from the two-story, beige-and-white house after a man had kicked in the front window, according to the neighbor and other residents.
