Nanny Gets 20 Years in Abuse
Charity Sato had worked as a family's live-in babysitter for just two weeks when disturbing details about her behavior came to light. She was 20 when hired in May 2005 to watch a family's children while the parents worked overnight shifts. She lasted 14 days. During that time, prosecutor Kimberly Hindman said, she plied the children with cigarettes, spiked their drinks with alcohol and engaged in sex acts with them. (Read More.)

St. Lawrence Co. Sheriff's Investigating Infant's Death
The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's office is conducting an investigation into the death of a ten-month-old girl several months ago near the town of Crary Mills.
The sheriff is calling Megen Perham's death suspicious. The child died of blunt force trauma to the head last February.

The District Attorney's office says that the child was in the hands of a babysitter during the timeframe they believe she was injured. The DA is waiting for final paperwork before deciding whether or not the case will go before a grand jury.

Baby Sitter Arrested Following 911 Call
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office in Texas received a 911 call from a frantic babysitter that the three-year-old child she was babysitting had disappeared while she was doing laundry. Sgt. Rickey Wheeler, Deputy Gary Estes from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Whitesboro P.D. and Whitesboro Fire & EMS arrived on the scene. Because the swimming pool was so murky, we could not see the bottom, so Whitesboro EMS personnel waded into the pool to make sure the child had not gone in. Other Deputies were checking the outer buildings and grounds while the babysitter put up the guard dogs in a room inside the residence. Once this was done, Lt. David Hawley and Whitesboro Fire Department personnel entered the residence to start the search inside. The kitchen was checked and went down a hallway to the laundry room where the babysitter said she was working. In the open closet, Lt. Hawley discovered the 3-year old asleep on the floor. Lt. Hawley called him by name, he woke up and put his arms up to pick him up. The child was given to the mother who arrived on scene.

While deputies were checking around the residence they discovered a 6 foot tall Marijuana plant growing in the flower bed. After checking for warrants on the babysitter, it was found that she had a Theft-by-Check warrant out of Cooke County.

regarding charity:
Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies charged her with three felony counts of lewd molestation, two felony counts of lewd acts on a child, one count of misdemeanor battery and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child. She admitted to the charges, according to criminal affidavits. She is being held without bail at the Orient Road Jail. The affidavits indicate Sato touched the boy inappropriately, then punched and squeezed his genitals ``to hurt the victim'' while two other children watched. She also was charged with tricking the boy and the other two children into drinking soda spiked with Southern Comfort liqueur. Patricia Sato said her daughter had lived in the alleged victims' Brandon apartment for at least two months, where she served as a full-time babysitter. She blames the Brandon family for providing her underage daughter a six-pack of Bud Light and a six-pack of Miller Light. She said her daughter did not have a history of drinking alcohol. ``Why would a parent buy a babysitter alcohol?'' she said. ``What person in their right mind would do that?''
