Hartford police said a 19-month-old boy was brain damaged from a severe head injury he received when his baby sitter swung him around in a sleeping bag for fun and it accidentally hit a wall. Elijah Gasque was injured Friday evening in his home on Main Street, police said.

Police say 25-year old Yalines Torres is being held on $500, 000 bond. They say she confessed to abusing the child. The baby is on life support after doctors declared him brain dead.
