Doctor Disputes Baby-Sitter's Version of Tot's Injuries
A Mount Olive baby-sitter accused of assaulting an 11-month-old boy told police she accidentally dropped the child twice while he was having a seizure, but the doctor who treated him said her version is "completely inconsistent" with the child's injuries, according to an arrest affidavit made public yesterday.
Khac Tam Nguyen, 31, was charged Friday with aggravated assault and child endangerment for causing the child head trauma, which has left him in critical condition. He suffered multiple skull fractures and bleeding in the brain and had to undergo emergency surgery, according to the affidavit.
