3-Month-old in Critical Condition; Babysitter Arrested
Omaha, NE - A 3-month-old baby girl is in critical condition with head injuries and her babysitter behind bars. Police arrested 25-year-old Mona Walker for felony child abuse. Police say the baby, Lauren Wentz, has numerous head injuries, including a fractured skull.
Police say Walker claims to have tripped over an ottoman while carrying the baby. But police say "the investigation determined that injuries were not consistent with Walker's account but were the result of intentional abusive actions." (see follow up on Friday, March 28)

Of all the sex offenders Judge Michael McKee has dealt with during his years on the bench, the 13-year-old girl in his courtroom Wednesday truly didn't fit the stereotype. The girl, who can't be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was in court for sexual offences committed against a three-year-old girl she was babysitting.
