Baby of Deployed Soldier Held for Ransom (Colorado)
His mother is a soldier deployed in Iraq. His father ison duty at Fort Carson. So an 8-month-old baby in Colorado Springs was left with a babysitter for 16 days. Police say, when his father tried to retrieve him from the sitter, that person demanded a ransom and held the father at knifepoint. The baby is now in the hospital, undernourished. Police say there was severe swelling on the right side of the baby's head.
Babysitter's Husband Accused Of Child Endangering (Ohio)
A 28-year-old Middletown man is under arrest after a one-year-old girl suffered several broken bones and brain injuries. Matthew Cofield is charged with felony child endangerment and obstructing official business. The child was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night from his Middletown home. Cofield's wife was babysitting the child at the time.
