Nannycam Catches Alleged Abuse
A hidden video camera captured a Cliffside Park nanny striking a 2-year-old boy with a broom handle and her fists, authorities said Thursday. Police arrested 23-year-old Flor Barriento on aggravated assault and child endangerment charges Wednesday night after the boy’s mother brought the videotape to police. (Read more.)

LAPD Finds Weapons, Drugs Stockpiled at Day-Care Center
A Boyle Heights day-care facility also housed a large cache of drugs, weapons and money, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.
