Cops: Babysitter Helps 3-year-old Smoke Pot
An 18-year-old River Rouge man has been charged with child abuse after authorities say he helped a 3-year-old boy smoke what appeared to be a marijuana-type cigarette and videotaped it. Felipe Francisco Garcia was arraigned Thursday on a second-degree child abuse charge. It carries up to four years in prison. The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press say Garcia was baby-sitting in early December and handed the boy an object that resembled a marijuana "blunt." Police say Garcia, a friend of the child's mother, says the object was a cigar.
