Authorities Weighing Additional Charges Against Babysitter In Child’s Death
Clay County authorities said this morning that it may take several days before they will determine whether additional criminal charges will be filed against a 36-year-old woman accused of abusing a child she was babysitting.
Four-month-old Jacob P. Mattingly, who had been in critical condition at Children’s Mercy Hospital since Monday, died Wednesday evening, police said.

San Jose Babysitter Held on Suspicion of Murder
A babysitter is being held on suspicion of murder after the baby she was caring for died in what a Santa Clara County prosecutor describes as ``a shaken-baby case.'' Authorities say Angelica Duran, 27, is being held on $500,000 bail after ten-month old Rodrigo Salcido died in a hospital Saturday after Duran claimed he hit his head while she baby-sat him earlier in the week.
