A woman looking after an 8-month-old baby was arrested this week after a two-month investigation into the child's death. The baby died Dec. 7, a day after a deputy found the infant unconscious and not breathing on the living room floor of Yvette Nicole Craddock's home.

N.J. Babysitter Sexually Assaulted in East Harlem
A New Jersey woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in an East Harlem apartment building Tuesday morning. Police say the 34-year-old woman works in the building on 105th Street between First and Second Avenues as a babysitter.

Babysitter Gets 25-35 Years for Murder
A judge Tuesday sentenced babysitter Chantal Randall to 25 to 35 years for the murder of a 17-month-old girl in August of 2006. Prosecutors say Randall beat and killed toddler Rosie Clarke after the girl pulled her hair. Randall admitted to child abuse resulting in death; she also said she tried to cover up what happened by trying to make it look like Rosie had choked on a quarter.

Accused Babysitter to be Monitored
A teenage babysitter accused of raping two boys in his care is being released today under electronic monitoring from the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center. The babysitter, now 16, appeared this morning and also will appear Thursday in Butler County Juvenile Court.
He was arrested earlier this month at Lakota West High School on the charges, three days after the children's mother filed a police report.In the report, the boys' mother alleges that, when her sons were ages 9 and 11, they were forced to perform oral sex on the baby sitter and that the 9-year-old also was ordered to take off his pants so the baby sitter could perform oral sex on him.

New Twist in Case of Toddler Beaten With A Baseball Bat
The investigation into the death of a Lauderhill toddler took another twist Friday morning, with prosecutors asking a judge for permission to go back into the home where she was apparently beaten. Shaloh Joseph was left in the care of an adult babysitter, Amonise Zileme, who was home at the time Shaloh was injured. When the 12-year-old suspect was initially questioned, he said the baby was returned to him in distress after she had spent an hour in the babysitter's room, according to a search warrant.

Police arrested the 20-year-old Steven Burnley Friday on investigation of first-degree murder. He remains in Denver City Jail without bond. Burnley, who has two small daughters but is not Taylor's biological father, was unemployed and would watch Taylor while her mother, Jennifer Bach, worked during the day.

Babysitter Gets 11 Years in Prison for Injuring Child
Nineteen-year-old Brent Hamilton was sentenced to 11 years in prison today for shoving an an 18-month-old boy into a wall and dropping him while babysitting in March 2007. The toddler, Mario Johnson, suffered severe injuries but made a recovery beyond what was expected, according to his relatives.

2-Year-old Recovering From Near-Drowning
A 10-foot ornamental pond in the front yard of an Ottawa County home nearly cost a toddler his life. Dakota Idema, 2, was playing outside on Ransom Street in Jamestown Township with some other children when the babysitter said she ran inside the house for a minute. When she returned, she found Dakota in the pond.

Babysitter Faces Rape, Child Porn Charges
Police in Delaware arrested a 50-year-old on charges that he raped a 6-year-old girl he was babysitting. Jack Bivens, 50, of Dover faces sexual assault, rape and child porn charges. Investigators say he fondled a 6-year-old girl while he babysat her several times during the past few weeks.

Deputies: Babysitter Left Kids To Go To Bar
Deputies say a Pasco County babysitter was arrested early Sunday after she allegedly left the two young children she was watching to go to a bar. Investigators say 30-year-old Denise Conrad of New Port Richey was babysitting the two children, who are 7 and 8 years old. They say the two kids woke up early in the morning and wandered outside the house. A neighbor reportedly called the Pasco County Sheriff's Department for help.

Kids Claim Sexual Abuse by the Hands of Babysitter
A Colorado man is under arrest after four kids under the age of 11, told authorities he had sexually assaulted them on several occasions. David Diesburg, 22, of Grand Junction was arrested on Monday and booked into the Mesa county jail.
Investigators said Diesburg was a "family friend" of a divorced woman who had recently moved from Iowa to Grand Junction and he baby-sat her four girls, from time to time.

Babysitter Behind Bars
A Dodge County woman is charged with murder after a child in her care died Wednesday.Police say 36-year-old Amy Rogers Jones called 911, saying the four-month-old was having trouble breathing. The infant was rushed to the Dodge County Hospital and later taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where it later died. An autopsy revealed the child's death was a homicide.

Mother Arrested After Allegedly Breaking in to Her Babysitter’s Home
Two women are in jail following an early morning altercation today over babysitting, according to a city police supervisor. The incident occurred at around 4:15 a.m. when a 23-year-old woman attempted to get her children from a 21-year-old neighbor who was watching them at a residence in the 500 block of East Mulberry, said Lt. Steve Hoogester.
The babysitter told the mother, who had been drinking, that she was not capable of taking care of her own children, and closed the door. The 23-year-old went upstairs, enlisted the help of a 22-year-old friend, and went back downstairs. The mother then allegedly broke a window to enter the neighbor’s residence. Babysitter Arrested in Toddler Death
A babysitter is behind bars in connection with the death of a one-year-old boy. Police say the 24-year-old woman took the baby to St. Francis Hospital early Friday morning, but the 18-month old died early Saturday. Heidi Dieball was booked into jail Friday for two counts of aggravated battery but the charges are expected to be amended and made more serious since the child died over the weekend.

Police say a 12-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with fatally beating a toddler he was baby-sitting. Authorities did not identify the boy because of his age, but say he used a baseball bat to beat the 17-month-old girl because she was making noise while he was trying to watch TV.

Baby Found Dead in Sunset Park-Brooklyn Crime Briefs
Police are investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby girl found yesterday morning inside a Sunset Park home on 51st Street near Fifth Avenue. Police responded to a 911 call from the child’s babysitter who reported finding her unconscious just after 10 a.m. The baby, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where doctors reported her dead on arrival. The city Medical Examiner’s office is still trying to determine the cause of death.

The woman who told police she babysat an Alton toddler the day he died under suspicious circumstances has been charged with obstruction of justice.Jeanine E. Lansdon, 26, of East Alton, was charged Wednesday in Madison County.Associate Circuit Judge Richard Tognarelli set Lansdon's bond at $100,000.Maxwell Owen Eyer, a 2-year-old boy in Lansdon's care, died Dec. 28 shortly after his mother brought him to the emergency room of St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton. He was unresponsive and died about 20 minutes after arriving at the hospital.Early on, investigators called the death suspicious and said that physical abuse was a potential cause of death. But police say the are awaiting final autopsy results to know the actual cause of death.

17-Month-Old Hospitalized After Being Abused By Mom's Boyfriend
A 17-month-old boy was hospitalized Friday morning following abuse that Apopka police said came at the hands of his mother's boyfriend. Investigators said 24-year-old Darlanne Toussaint was babysitting the child at the Willow Lake apartments off SR-436, Thursday. Police said when the baby started crying, Toussaint confessed to beating the boy and using a hair dryer on several parts of his body for 10 to 30 minutes.

No Charges Yet in Burned Child Case
Prosecutors say there have been no charges filed against a Wichita babysitter accused of severely burning a toddler left in her care. Ruth Rogers, 29, was arrested on December 20th, after a mother claimed her two-year-old son's left hand was burned. Police say the second and third degree burns were no accident, and appear to have come from hot water.Rogers runs a small in-home daycare in the 1500 block of north Kenmar. Authorities say it is properly licensed and there were no other injuries to any other children

Canadian Tot Wandered off from Sitter While Visiting NYC and is Found Safe
A toddler who was found wandering the streets of North York after running off from her babysitter on New Year's Eve was back in her mother's arms in time to ring in 2008.
The little girl, believed to be 3 or 4 years old, donned her winter coat and boots and walked out of an apartment in the Dufferin St. and Wilson Ave. area some time Monday morning, Toronto Police said. She was located a few hundred metres away at 11 a.m. and officers immediately began searching for her parent
