Babysitter Takes Stand in his own Huntley Hearing
UTICA - A man accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl he was babysitting took the stand during a hearing Wednesday in Oneida County Court. It was an evidence suppression hearing where defense attorneys try to keep certain evidence from being admitted at trial.
In this case, it was a recorded, 'controlled' phone call during which Chicherchia allegedly admitted the abuse to the child's mother.

Babysitter To Be Released From Prison
A babysitter who left a baby boy inside a hot car back in 1999, killing the child, is expected to be released from prison Thursday. 11-month-old Bryan Puckett died in July 1999 when Karen Murphy left him in the hot car in a Lexington store parking lot. His parents went on a national crusade that resulted in the passing of Kentucky's "Bryan's Law." Now when a child dies in a hot car the person responsible faces a manslaughter charge and the possibility of ten years in prison.

Babysitter Charged After Child put on Roof
Hennepin County prosecutors allege a babysitter from Minneapolis put a 6-year-old girl on a second-story roof and wouldn't let her back inside.They also claim in charges filed Tuesday that a witness saw 19-year-old Vanessa E. Sparks dangling an infant out of the window of a two-story Minneapolis apartment. The criminal complaint says the 6-year-old crawled back inside and told police she was let back in by her sister.Sparks is charged with two counts of endangerment of a child, a gross misdemeanor.

Mother Accuses Babysitter of Inappropriate Touching
A Buffalo babysitter is being accused of inappropriately touching a two-year-old boy. The child's mother tells police her son told her about the sexual contact last week."It's said," said Keita. We're withholding her last name to protect the identity of her son. "I never would expect it in a million years.""He came home saying that he wanted someone to kiss his private parts," she said.Keita confronted the babysitter before calling police and said the unidentified women admitted to the inappropriate contact.

Dodge Babysitter Pleads Not Guilty
A Dodge County, GA woman accused of shaking a baby to death in January pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Tuesday.

Four-month-old Jaci Morgan Rogers died in January, and a medical examination called her death "a classic case of shaken-baby syndrome," according to Greg Harvey, special agent in charge of the GBI's Eastman office. Her babysitter, Amy Rogers Jones, now faces charges of felony murder and cruelty to children in the first degree, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Babysitter Pleads Guilty to Beating Baby
A babysitter pleaded guilty on Monday to beating his friends' 1-year-old son so badly that the baby may have permanent brain damage. Matthew Christiansen admitted to having hurt Eryk Woodruff last September while he was watching the baby along with his 3-year-old sibling.
Last year Eryk was first admitted to Harborview Medical Center, then transported to an assisted living facility in Woodinville after doctors found several broken bones, including a broken jaw and rib, as well as a serious brain injury from the assault.

Sex With Babysitter nets Indiana Man 10-Year Sentence
A Valparaiso man who pleaded guilty to forcing a weekend babysitter to have sex received a 10-year prison sentence Friday for his crime. Brian J. Norlington, 48, was taken into custody for the April 2007 incident on the charge of sexual misconduct with a minor. As part of his plea, the prosecution dropped a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He had provided liquor and marijuana to her.

Child Hurt in Fall from Second Story Window
A two-year-old Forest Lake boy is recovering at a Twin Cities hospital on Thursday after falling 12-14 feet from a second story window late Wednesday afternoon. Chief of Police Clark Quiring said officers responded to a medical call at 4:48 p.m. to 22322 Elston Ave. N. where the youth had fallen. The police chief said the boy fell from a second story window after a screen apparently gave way. The boy landed on a partial concrete patio. North Air Care air lifted the boy to a metro area hospital where he is being treated for two small skull fractures, the chief said. Quiring said the boy's injuries are not life threatening. The boy was at the home with a babysitter when the accident happened.

The parents of a Perinton child left alone in a hot car last summer by a babysitter who went into a tanning salon are upset with the sentence handed out this month in Perinton Town Court.The babysitter, Jaime Rosman, 20, of Victor, was convicted by a six-member jury in February of endangering the welfare of a child for leaving 23-month-old Anthony Nesser in the locked car in the parking lot of Island Tan, 555 Moseley Road, Aug. 3 while she went in for a tanning treatment.

Cops: Babysitter Smoked Crack in Front of Infant

Police say Robin Fininen, 46, cared for the infant boy in late February. When the grandmother arrived to pick him up, she noticed a strong odor coming from the house. The baby was flushed and dazed. Fininen admitted to smoking multiple rocks of crack cocaine. She now faces child endangerment charges.

Wyatt Coker was 7 months old in November when he suffered a 3-inch fracture that penetrated his skull, causing a traumatic brain injury. Physicians said someone had beaten the child. Babysitter Charged with Endangerment After Toddler Was Allegedly Sexually Abused
The Anoka County Attorney's Office has charged a woman who was babysitting 2-year-old twin girls last month with felony endangerment after one of the twins was allegedly molested under her care. Heather A. Peterson, 20, is accused of putting the children in harm's way on March 10 when she exchanged sexually explicit text messages with a man who was later charged with molesting one of the girls, according to a criminal complaint.

Police: Babysitter Dragged 3-Year-old by Arm
A woman is scheduled to appear in court on charges she endangered a 3-year-old girl by “dragging (her) by the arm on a busy road” while drunk. Letita Caroline Edick, 45, of Reeves Street, is charged with felony child neglect. A neighbor called police on March 27 after she said Edick came to her house with a little girl she’d been babysitting. She said Edick planned to walk to her own mother’s house and couldn’t be convinced otherwise. She also said Edick was smoking and nearly burned the girl with the cigarette several times, so she called 911....

Baby Sitter, 60, Accused of Assaulting Two Young Girls
A West Salem, Wisconsin man is charged with sexually assaulting two 9-year-old girls he was baby-sitting. According to a criminal complaint filed in La Crosse County, William Ogden, 60, used duct tape to cover the mouth and bind the hands of one of the girls and locked the other girl in the closet.

Babysitter Charged of Killing Infant in Lancaster
Police have charged a 19-year-old man in the killing earlier this week of an infant he was babysitting, officials said. Andrew Dion Ingram was charged with capital murder for the death Monday of 1-year-old Aaron Elwood Jackson, officials said. Mr. Ingram was being held Thursday at the Dallas County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail, according to jail records.

Baby Dies After Being Rushed to Hospital
An 8-month-old boy died at the hospital after he stopped breathing while in the care of a babysitter, authorities said. The Sheriff's Station got a call at 4:21 p.m. about a baby not breathing from a house in the 10500 block of Poinciana Street, said Sgt. Thomas Vernola.
"It appears to be natural causes," Gallego said. "There's nothing to indicate foul play."

Police: Man Abducts 8-Year-Old Girl From Back Yard
Police said Jorge Lagos lured the girl to a fence with money, and once she was in reach, he grabbed her and took her into his house. Police said the victim's younger brother saw Lagos take his sister. That's when he ran to get help from the baby sitter. The baby sitter ran to the man's home and noticed the child with her pants to her knees, police said. She managed to get the child and run away, but police said Lagos chased them with a knife.

No Arrest Yet in Infant Abandonment
Still no answers as to who was responsible for abandoning two very young children at a dumpster near 7th Avenue and Virginia in Central Phoenix. A Phoenix Police Report reveals that the mother of the 18-month-old boy and 9-month-old girl was working that night at Bandaids Show Lounge, right next to the dumpster where the children were found. The report also reveals that the mother told police that her babysitter was her roommate and fellow dancer.

Nanny Held Without Bail in Shaken-Baby Case
Rehan Karnani was shaken so hard by his nanny, police said, that he suffered a brain hemorrhage and had to be hospitalized. His 23-year-old nanny is now charged with hurting the 18-month-old boy last week in his parents' Greenburgh home. Bibi Safeena Zaman, who lives in the Bronx, was arraigned yesterday in Greenburgh Town Court on a felony charge of reckless assault of a child, a law that was stiffened two years ago at the urging of a Yonkers father. She is being held without bail in the Westchester County jail. The boy is in the pediatric intensive care unit at Westchester Medical Center with subdural and retinal hemorrhaging.

A Church Hill, TN man is accused of sexually assaulting a seven year old child. Hawkins County deputies arrested Roger Lee Dugger after a four month investigation after the young boy’s grandmother lodged a complaint. Child Molester May be Eligible for House Arrest
A babysitter who blamed a five-year-old girl for being a "sexual tease" could be spared time behind bars, not for what he did but when he did it. Vernon Van Mierlo, 60, doesn't at first blush fit the profile of a child molester with no mental health issues, no problems with substance abuse, a successful life-long career as a skilled tradesman, strong family ties and no alcohol for more than 20 years. A psychological assessment found the Trout Creek man was considered a medium to low risk to the public, but it also showed he's sexually attracted to young boys and girls and exhibits signs of sexual and cognitive dysfunction.

Pleasanton Baby in Critical Condition
A 9-month-old Pleasanton, CA boy remains in critical condition today after being airlifted to Children's Hospital Oakland on Saturday with severe head trauma, Pleasanton police Detective Dirk Hooper said. Hooper said detectives are investigating whether the cause of the injury was accidental or criminal and have made no arrests, he sa
